Generative animated short films based on each viewer’s mood and memories.
For two weeks, participants journal about their life events and mood change. A system takes the journals, parses the data and generates a unique animated short film for each participant.
Each participant’s mood change, happiness, sadness, stress, life encounters and social interactions are embodied in the adventure of a corgi. In a study I showed 50 participants their films to see if there’s any quantifiable change in their mental health measurements.
The system is designed to support mental health intervention. Read my thesis at the MIT Media Lab.
